The reception is 24 hour open, however the staff is only there on certain hours. Please see the page containing the opening hours for more information on this.
Check-in is from 2 pm. If you arrive later than 7 pm, please notify us. Check-out is latest at 10 am on the day of departure.
There are a lot of fun playground equipment at our big nature playground. Furthermore, we have playing fields, a petanque field, rowing boats, a campfire, swings, indoor and outdoor table tennis, and a beautiful wood close by. It is possible to borrow balls in the reception.
All of our guests will get their own key, so that you can come and go as you wish. We, of course, expect that all our guests show consideration for each other when coming home late, and make sure that there is peace and quiet in the corridors where the rooms are located at all times.
In the lower floor in the building with the rooms there is a self-service machine where cold drinks can be bought. In the lower floor there is also the possibility to make tea or coffee in the self-service kitchen.
There are several facilities at the hostel for the guests to use. In the reception area there is a kiosk, Internet café, and free newspaper. In our big common room Atrium there is a TV, tables, a coffee machine and in the library you will find couches as well as a TV which is a comfortable place to sit and read. There is also the possibility to borrow books from the library. Also, the dining room offers a nice view of the woods, and there is an exit to a lovely garden with tables and benches.
All over the center you can connect to WIFI. It is free of charge for all of our guests.
We have good handicap facilities as well as handicap-friendly rooms. Car parking is also possible near the rooms.
Danhostel Hillerød is a non-smoking area.
Our guest kitchen/self-service kitchen can be used by all of our guests except from groups. The kitchen contains two large fridges, two owens, two cooking islands, pots and pans as well as table ware.
If you need to do laundry we have two washing machines, a dryer as well as an iron. Please note that the laundry room does not open until 1 pm every day. It costs DKK 50,- to wash including use of the dryer.
First time staying at a hostel because hotels in this area were very expensive when researching. Arrived after hours and key was easy to find. Everyone was very friendly - there was a summer camp and they invited us to have s'mores at the campfire. Room was very spacious, clean and had everything we expected. Experience here will make me look into hostels for future travels abroad (we live in USA). We prefer simple, laid back places and this was it!

Nu var det Corona virus tid så det er svært at vurdere. Men vi havde stedet for os selv og vores børn på 10 og 12 var vildt imponerede. Vi voksne nød værelse, fællesrum osv.

Overraskende behageligt når man egentlig er vandt til gode hoteller, for nu at sige det ligeud. Jeg kan sagtens bo på DanHostel en anden gang, god seng, flot standard, pænt og - ikke mindst - rigtig søde og venlige personale.
